Stefan Smith is the Head of Digital Engagement at the ACLU, leading strategy for the organization's nationwide digital platforms and engagement. As a former historian and trained academic, Stefan brings research-driven storytelling to digital communications and organizing. Before joining the ACLU, Stefan was Online Engagement Director for Pete Buttigieg's presidential campaign and held senior digital roles with the Democratic Party of New Mexico, Sen. Martin Heinrich, and Hillary Clinton's Michigan campaign. He was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina.
