WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, President Donald Trump said six Members of Congress exhibited 'seditious behavior, punishable by death' after they made a video encouraging members of the military and intelligence community to refuse to follow illegal orders.

In response, Mike Zamore, National Director of Policy & Government Affairs at the Ůҹ, released the following statement:

“President Trump’s threats are a dangerous attempt to silence his political opposition. All of us have a First Amendment right to restate the law, and the President cannot threaten to silence elected officials simply because he does not like what they have to say. Service members do not have to obey a manifestly illegal order, and anybody encouraging them to violate their oaths and the law is doing harm to them and to the rule of law."
